Hands On: UNIS Charlie - Tiger Camo

Ah yes, the illustrious tiger stripe camo. Tiger stripe camo was developed and used by the US military in the late 60's, for use in dense jungle warfare. Its name, perhaps obviously, comes from its pattern; the narrow stripes are brush strokes of greens and browns while the broader strokes of black are over the olive/khaki base. For those who have an appreciation for military influenced clothing you'll be more than happy to get your hands on this historically referenced piece.

Eunice Lee, Owner, Designer & Founder of UNIS, has created a real beauty with this lightweight Charlie jacket. She uses a high quality japanese cotton ripstop which ensures that this fatigue jacket will not only last you years of wear and tear but it will break in and look better over time.

I'm a huge fan and advocate of wearing tonal items together. This jacket is seen with my Overdyed Moss Oxford from Gitman Vintage and my Natural Canvas Trousers from Rogue Territory but it could easily be paired with dark demin, an Ecru oxford and your trail oxfords with vibram sole.

I can already tell that this jacket will serve me well for three out of four seasons while living on the west coast. It works perfectly fine atop a plain t-shirt when long summer days dwindle into cool evening. The flipside; it has a generous fit so there's ample room to layer shirts, sweaters, scarves etc. underneath when summer has moved on. The five button closure runs about three quarters of the way down the jacket, a visual detail that I find appealing. Another great feature of this military inspired garment is in the pockets. Each of the four front flap pockets has a hidden dual button closure, is bellowed and constructed with a center box pleat.

Jacket looks great! I'm looking at sizing for it and the website isn't real helpful. Im stuck mostly when it comes to length. If you could reply what size you got and your height that would be fantastic! thanks
