Oh, San Fran: How I Enjoy Thee

When you live in the dead of the Midwest’s whipping boy, Iowa, there aren’t very many instances you can get up and check out your favorite shops in the city, try on things you ogle over every day and talk to your favorite shop owners. Luckily last weekend, after a beautiful, much needed vacay to Napa Valley with my wife, I was blessed to get to visit two of my favorite haberdasheries in the world in San Francisco.
Stopping by Taylor Stitch and Unionmade did a few things for me; it made me realize what I was missing living in the Midwest, and it made me realize that even some folks I look up to in this industry (Michael Maher of Taylor Stitch and Carl Chiara of Unionmade) are top-notch people who welcome everyone with open arms. I don’t think I need to go into depth as to what you may find at these shops, as you can virtually stock up for the rest of your life just between them, but the whole kid-in-a-candy-store feeling was an understatement. I'm never too proud to voice my kid-like love and appreciation for being able converse with and step foot in shops like these two.
