After getting rave reviews on the Rogue Territory DBL Indigo Workshirt I was wearing in my Gitman Vintage shirt post a few days back, I thought I would give an in-depth look into its evolution. The perfect overshirt 8-9 months out of the year, whether layered under a parka and scarf or simply thrown over an oxford, this 13.5oz Japanese over-dyed denim shirt’s versatility has really made itself a mainstay in my ever-changing wardrobe.
With over a year of wear, the natural fading is impeccable. Every crease and crevice tells a story. With no washes thus far, the overshirt breaks in a little more each time I wear it, same as you’d see out of your favorite pair of raw denim. Starting off rigid, yet pliable is now soft and comfortable. I’ve had many an imbibed night in this shirt, giving it all the rough and tumblin' I could, but the triple needle seam stitch has barely shown an ounce of give. With the exception of a button literally being ripped off by an unnamed friend who I still have a hard time forgiving, this shirt has withstood the test of time thus far and it has many more years of wear. This has to be one of the sturdiest workshirts on the market with the style to match.
While my shirt is the OG version, an updated version just released last week and it won’t be around for long.
