2 x 4 Chair Series by Rason Jens

Neighbour is one of my favorite shops in Vancouver, as Saager has done an excellent job cultivating a unique, personal, well stocked space in a way that just makes sense, all while adding something special to the retail landscape. This series of chairs is one such example. Designer Jason Rens crafted each of these chairs from a single 8-foot 2 x 4, each with a different design. Having one of these would come in handy in a small apartment to hold your favorite succulence or simply as a bedside table.

"Jason Rens is a designer, woodworker and proponent of free thought. He is also the founder of SU PE RM AK ER, a multifunctional collective concerned with creating new experiences through custom furniture, installations and interior design. He also works individually under Rason Jens. Everything within this section is custom made by Rason Jens exclusively for Neighbour. The premise behind the project stems from the designer’s desire to recreate the personal interaction one may have with a typical commonplace object or form."
