I thought I'd share some of my favorite finds from a few of my appointments in New York at mens market week. This first brand is relatively new, both on my radar and in the world of menswear. The Jante Law (pronounced "anti") is based in France, and operates from 10 strict rules in life as outlined by nordic author A. Sandemose in his novel "A Fugitive Crosses His Tracks." Chapter 1: Don't think you're anything special.
Operating as a collective of european agents, The Jante Law comes together to produce succinct collections for the modern day man. I had the chance to chat with one of their agents, Bent Van Looy at Man Show, who was pleasantly friendly, informative and helpful. Aside from discussing the apt branding and mission of the The Jante Law, we also had a chance to discuss their Spring/Summer 2013 offerings, as well as their lookbook for the campaign. They create well made wardrobe staples from leather belts and accessories to marled cardigans and contemporary shirting options. I'm excited to see more from this young brand in upcoming seasons.
