BKLYN Dry Goods x Dedegumo
On the topic of watches this weekend, the guys at BKLYN Dry Goods have been busy behind the scenes. Fast on the heels of the D.S. and Durga collaboration comes a collaboration with the Japanese watchmakers dedegumo with the K-1 and Insignia. Dedegumo is based out of Kyoto and like the city it grew out of, they keeps things very traditional. Each of the watches, minus only the Seiko movement, is handmade by the craftsmen at Dedegumo. Both watches hearken back to touchstones that weave their way through much of BKLYN Dry Goods work. The K-1 draws it's inspiration from naval gauges, and comes with three hand-made Italian leather straps to diversify your options. Likewise the Insignia, which brings to mind an old compass, allows for personalization. It offers three strap options, five second hand options and ten leather strap options. Both watches are made to order, and take 4-6 weeks to complete. K-1 & Insignia can be ordered at Dedegumoʼs Orchard Street work-shop, through BKLYN Dry Goods' website and through the brand's monthly pop-up shops.
