Here's another great collaboration or remake rather, between the Viberg and Cabourn camps. Nigel and Brett worked together on this mountaineering boot, to design an updated version that still bears all the hallmarks of the original Apsley Cherry-Garrard Boot, paying careful attention to the era and usage. (The original boot is top left.) Nigel Cabourn was able to actually spend time with and study the original boot in great length, to be able to carry on the legacy of the story in a new way. I had a chance to see this boot at the Viberg factory earlier this year, though under wraps for so long, it's great to finally see these released.
"Having been lucky enough to be a part of Nigel Cabourn’s Limited Ed 2 ‘Scott’s Last Expedition’ Collection, these boots are limited to around 75 pair worldwide. I have included the Original boot which is in the ‘Scott Polar Research Institute’ in Cambridge UK, where Nigel went to research all of the original garments."
