In my search for an ideal summer shoe, with a distinct bias to canvas, I came across these off-white gems from Converse & CDG. The shoe debuts in one of Converse's most recognisable silhouettes, with several special details applied as a result of the CDG influence; most notably the addition of the CDG Play heart emblem on each ankle. An addition which, excusing the pun, adds a playful dynamic to these modern-day staples.
This collaboration certainly furthers their shared reputation as two brands who rarely shy from an opportunity to pool thoughts and expertise with like-minded individuals, though in this instance (and wisely so) I believe CDG have taken a 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' attitude to this simple, but effective joint venture.
Converse have built what is essentially a pop-culture empire through the production of their now iconic shoes, and it's no surprise CDG have expressed interest in working together as opposed to having tried to reinvent the wheel as such, should they have endeavoured to produce a similar offering in their sole name. These are most certainly on my to-buy list and will no doubt be more manageable than a brilliant-white pair for year-round wear.
