Deerskin Wallet Patina
I had the pleasure of meeting Barrett Alley last summer at Gentlemen's Reserve, where he was making wallets and card holders during the weekend. He brought quite the selection of his hand made pieces and I was able to see this beautiful deerskin wallet in person. Recently he ran into a customer who had been using his deerskin wallet for just over a year. As you can see by the photo on the right, it's developed a beautiful patina.
"Limited edition hunter harvested American deerskin wallet. Antique Japanese Edo period (mid 19th c.) hand-dyed, hand-loomed hemp indigo lining. Hand sewn with Irish linen thread. 1 bill pocket and 5 card pockets. Edged with beeswax. Fits dollars, euros, and most other currencies."
