Draught Dry Goods at The Ace Hotel

Caesy Oney, Designer and Owner of Draught Dry Goods, moved his entire business out to Portland from Montana over the summer. {Moving your business around is a considerable feat, let me tell you that much.} One thing that's for certain, Draught Dry Goods is moving upward with this Fall/Winter Collection. Casey has incorporated some new styles to his already solid line-up, including leather wrap for your handle bars, a waxed weekend duffle and idea carry case, all new favorites for me. I was chatting with Caesy a few days ago about his recent participation in Content at The Ace Hotel in Portland.

"Content is an event held here in Portland at the Ace Hotel, where they select 28 designers to put together an installation in each of the rooms of the hotel for a one night party. Super chill, huge turnout and really fun/appropriate for a line like Draught. I basically used the deadline for Content as the deadline to release my new collection, so it was an incredibly hectic month and I haven't really had a day off in six weeks. But all in all, I would say it was a success and I am super pleased with how the first drop of the collection turned out. It was also sort of a first public appearance for me and Draught and a good opportunity to plant Draught in Portland as a new creative platform. Quite a few of the pieces were very Portland-centric and I got to work with a lot of really talented folks here in town on some of the new gear."

I was fortunate enough to get to check out these goods in person at Content, and can attest to their quality and aesthetic appeal. I like that they're using lighter, thinner leather for some of their pieces than some of the other well-known US leatherworkers. Not everything needs to be 10, 11, 12, 13+ ounces!
