Gitman Bros Vintage: Black Watch Plaid
Very few shirting brands are able to dip back into their archives, if they've even been around that long, to recreate shirts from vintage patterns to execute it today, and well. This Black Watch Tartan Plaid from the archives over at Gitman Vintage circa 1979, is crafted from a loosely woven cotton also known as Hopsack. They applied this pattern and fabric to one of their standard shirt models and released it for Fall/Winter 2012. I like the subtle tones of navy and green in black watch plaid, it really could be worn in so many different ways, with or without a tie, layered under a sweater, sweatshirt or chore coat, or even as a dual shirt combination– there are countless ways to make this shirt work for you.
