Merrow British Clothing

New on my radar, is Merrow British Clothing. I was able to speak with founder Richard not long ago, about his budding brand. They are wholly committed to keeping all manufacturing within England, with the first of the line's functional pieces being offered is the Telemark Smock. Their pieces are inspired by quite obviously, vintage clothing.

"My background is in Vintage clothing and furniture, I started Merrow Clothing to try to recreate some of classic and increasingly hard to find outerwear that I have sold and collected over the years. With the Telemark Smock I felt it was really important to try to retain the original features and detailing of the classic mountaineers smock and resist cutting corners to end up with a cheap watered down version of the real thing. To do this using a UK manufacturer while keeping in budget has proved quite a challenge to say the very least. The original smocks were made to go over heavy sweaters and uniforms making the chest size appear oversized, I wanted stay true to the original design as it gives the jacket an authentic vintage sillouette. Essentially, we are a mirco company on a limited budget striving to produce an authentic and well priced product for the discerning few."
