Patrick Ervell Icelandic Sweater

Patrick Ervell is a brand that continues to find itself on the shelves each season at Neighbour, and it's easy to see why. The California-raised Swedish designer works wonders when it comes to creating basic staples with a contemporary fit, all while using a fairly subdued colour palate. What I love about this crew neck sweater, aside from the fact that it's ridiculously soft as it's been made from baby alpaca wool, is the fact that the icelandic snowflake pattern at the collar, cuffs and hem, is subtle with the perfect mix of tonal blues and a touch of tan. Layer this over a soft flannel, heavyweight overdyed oxford or just a t-shirt and you're pretty much set for the season. Also worth mentioning– the size of the collar is ideal, not too thick or too thin but able to keep a shirt collar properly in place which subsequently keeps the wind out. Though that may not be a noticed by most others, it's definitely a favorite detail of mine when I'm searching for a new sweater.
