Ryan Koopmans, a New York based, west coast raised photographer, is probably one of the best set of eyes in contemperary photography. With a consistent eye for the unexpected, the interesting, the unique and the downright incredible, Ryan has been growing in stature since starting out on the photography path. His behind the scenes fashion photography as well as his travel photography are excellent, but some of the real highlights of Ryan's portfolio are his photographs from his time living in Vancouver documenting the downtown east side. The image captures are incredibly moving, touching and well shot; Ryan has opened a window to a part of Vancouver not seen by most, and a part that deserves more recognition to aid in the healing process of the neighborhood. His portfolio, back catalogue and photoblog are well worth the Saturday Inspirational browse.
