Spent Musket Oil
D.S. & Durga and BKLYN Dry Goods are so well suited it's surprising that they haven't collaborated before. Both companies hail from New York, are made up of two people, D.S. and Durga being named after the founders and BKLYN dry goods being run by Jahn Hall and Kurt Uhlendorf, both hold a special place in their hearts for handmade, classic Americana. D.S. and Durga is a small perfume company who craft each bottle, box and label with their own hands, while BKLYN dry goods host pop-ups to share their love for quality menswear and vintage curiosities. Together they have created 'Spent Musket Oil', a scent that takes its cues from a Barbary wars-era rifle found in the hold of a packet ship in the Brooklyn Navy Yards. A combination of vintage Birchwood, spent rifle oil, and dried leather hilt warmed by Cavnedish tabac combined with Merchant Marine's bay rhum and musk are used to craft the scent. The bottle itself is as well thought-out, and as well crafted, as the scent. Spent Musket Powder is a limited release of only 175 50ml bottles, and will be available from BKLYN Dry Good's own website and pop-ups, along with selected stores.
