Winter Kit Nº2 – Happy New Year
Tomorrow I'm heading to one of my favorite places here on Vancouver Island, the tiny westernmost coastal town of Ucluelet near Tofino, to ring in the new year from a beach front cabin. This kit is almost identical to what I'll most likely be wearing for those early morning walks out along the cold, sandy long beaches. You definitely need to dress in layers with a parka or rain shell of some sorts when you spend any time on the coast– you never know when its going to start pouring so it's best to be prepared. Plus, Owner Operater builds a solid option in NYC, with taped seams, zipped venting and breathable nylon amongst a whole host of details that make it well worth your investment. This waxed tan camp cap has received a good amount of wear over the last few months repelling the downpour and I intend on keeping it within arms reach on this trip. My Red Wing 8138's have taken quite a beating over the last four or five years of wear, they hold up great through snow or rain and will be my go-to this weekend.
Wherever you find yourself this New Years Eve, Enjoy.
