Winter Kit Nº4 – Market Week in NYC
Today's kit represents change. No, I am not about to dive into some prolific speech about menswear and how it might change your life. My first kit comes from being a long time fan of Free Man and everything it represents, while fusing my own personal taste, which is a bit different from what you might normally see on these pages. I personally believe in the sayin "if it aint broke, dont fix it," but in this case, a little change never hurt anybody.
It's the top of the year and it is tradeshow season. Industry dwellers are traveling far and wide, from the streets of NY for Project and Capsule to Pitti Uomo in Florance, Italy flaunting some of the best clothing and fashion from around the globe. While I will be making a trip to NY, there is one thing I am thinking– comfort. It will be cold so Uniqlo heatech will be my base layer from top to bottom. Keeping things relaxed with an N-1 Deck Jacket from Alpha Industries Japan over a white button up from Gitman Vintage, layered under a basic grey crewneck sweatshirt from Heritage Research. While I am not a fan of pre-worn denim, you cant beat the washes from LVC, specifically the 1957 505, which will be accompanied by a Free Man x Wood & Faulk D-Ring belt. Visvim products hold much controversy but I love them and I walk around in the Skagway model all day everyday due to how comfortable they are. I'm normally not a big fan of backpacks, but you cant really go wrong the Lamina Corduroy 20L backpack. To keep my head warm, I will be wearing that knitted beanie from Columbiaknit.
